Fun With States And A New Title

Two updates today.
The first bit of news is a new little web app I built for fun. It's a State Power Analysis tool. I'm hoping to do a video with some thoughts after playing around with it a bit, but in the meantime you can have fun doing some demographic and economic analysis.
As a side note... but perhaps the most important long term aspect. My background is as a software developer. I built this whole app using Claude Code, and just acted as a development manager, reviewing what it generated. I have a lot of thoughts on future economics - but for now, just take a look at the app and keep in mind I didn't write a single line of code.
The second update is that I have updated the book with a new title, preface, and cover. I'd estimate about 3-5% of the content was updated as well to match the new title and subtitle. The new title is Defederalized: After The Constitutional Crisis.
If you bought the Kindle version, you should have access to the new version automatically. If you bought a print version, unfortunately I can't automatically update you, but given the relatively small scope of changes you are probably all set. I will be posting the new preface and sample next week for free.
As to the reason for the change? Two points. The first is that I think the old title was sort of burying the lede - the whole point of the book was to contemplate what happens if/when the federal government fades as an effective organization, and... well. You're all reading the news. I can't count the number of times an article ends with something along the lines of "and this would mean a constitutional crisis." That's the beginning of the story. What next is the interesting thing.
The other reason is that the word Democrat in the title appears (at least to me) to be pretty off-putting for a lot of people. I can't count the number of times I've handed a copy to someone and they say something to me along the lines of "well, I've voted Democrat my whole life... but I really don't think of myself as a Democrat." There are a lot of polls about the brand favorability for the Democrats right now... and they aren't pretty. I thought the original title might catch the eye, but instead it appears to have discouraged potential readers.
Thank you for your support - and if you have a few minutes, I'd always appreciate a review. Even a single click for a good star rating is a big help.
Thanks - and if you have any thoughts, hit reply or comment.
